Youth Diversion Education Program

Family Service Agency of DeKalb County’s Center for Counseling offers many services for individuals
including the Youth Diversion Education Program.
The goal of the FSA’s Youth Diversion Education Program is to teach you the skills to manage your life, so
you can learn to do it your own way. FSA has staff that is licensed by the State of Illinois to provide mental
health, individual and family services. FSA’s Youth Diversion Education Program is 10-step educational
programming group sessions.
The first step to is to contact the intake coordinator, who will email you the intake forms to include the
participation agreement and consent for services. Once you complete the paperwork you must come in-person
to FSA at a scheduled time to return intake paperwork and you will be provided the programming booklet and
schedule your group sessions. You must participate and attend all of the mandatory 10-step educational
programming sessions.
Abstinence from drugs and alcohol is required during the Youth Diversion Education Program, randomly
observed urine screens, at DUI Behavioral Health Risk Education will be completed during the educational
programming at the clinician’s discretion. We will work with you to complete the Youth Diversion Education
Program requirements and gain back your life management.
