Walk to End Child Abuse
Walk to End Child Abuse occurs in April every year in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness Month. The Children's Advocacy Center organizes the walk, a raffle, and a t-shirt design contest. All proceeds from this event benefit children in the DeKalb County community through awareness, support, education, and prevention.
2022
We are very excited to host our walk in person for the first time in two years! Join us at Sycamore High School, Northern Illinois University lagoon, Hinckley, or virtually wherever you are. Leading up to the event, we are inviting children to participate in our t-shirt design contest. These t-shirts will be distributed to participants, and the contest winner will win a free t-shirt! All proceeds from this event stay local and benefit DeKalb County children through awareness, advocacy, and prevention. Take a stance against child abuse and create a team, meet us on April 23rd to walk, or take a walk in your neighborhood. Your decision to participate allows children the opportunity to speak their truth and receive the listening ear they deserve! #SpeakYourTruth
Community members are invited to attend our Child Abuse Prevention Month kick-off event on April 1st, 2022. We are offering a free, virtual Darkness to Light: Stewards of Child presentation. Participants will learn how to recognize, prevent, and report child abuse.
